English Language Arts 10 (Hybrid)
English Language Arts 10 continues to engage and develop student understanding with elements of literature from Greek tragedies to modern times using the genres of fiction and nonfiction. Through reading and the study of literary elements such as plot and setting, character, narrator and voice, tone and mood, and symbolism and irony, students develop skills in literary analysis and interpretation. Students also examine form, style, and persuasion within nonfiction works. In this course, students strengthen their vocabulary, grammar, and mechanics. They also focus on the stages of the writing process.
