Through a multidisciplinary approach, students will explore the environment of the horse in American and European culture. Topics will include the physical attributes of a horse, nutrition including feed and the farmyard, the key components of the horse's living environment, including the barn, pastures and forages. Further, students will explore the businesses and technology aspects of the equine sciences and veterinary studies. We will also explore the horse as the focus of artistic expression and American culture. Students will create art projects and learn about the various forms of riding as a sport, for pleasure, competition or artistic expression.
