Biology CR

Biology covers a wide range of concepts in the field of biology. Students are introduced to the study of biology and its four unifying themes, and they are introduced to the concept of the cell, including cell structure and function. The concept of the cell is extended, and students explore Mendelian genetics and how humans inherit traits. The course concludes with the structure and mechanisms of DNA, as well as the role of biotechnology in today's society. Students also explore the theory of evolution, including early ideas, how populations evolve, and the history of life on Earth. Students discuss the concept of ecology, where they learn about different principles of ecology.
